1.1 About Our Service
Comparisun UK operates a digital comparison platform connecting consumers with MCS-certified solar panel installers across the United Kingdom. We provide:
- Solar energy potential calculations for your property
- Personalised quotes from vetted solar installation companies
- Educational content about Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), ECO4 grants, and renewable energy incentives
- Tools to compare offers from multiple installers
Important: Comparisun is an independent comparison service. We are not a solar panel installer, manufacturer, or energy supplier.
1.2 Regulatory Context
Our service operates within UK energy regulations, including:
- Ofgem Confidence Code for price comparison services
- RECC (Renewable Energy Consumer Code) standards
- MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) requirements
- Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) scheme
- ECO4 (Energy Company Obligation) subsidy scheme
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and the property must be located in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland).
3. Service Description
All solar energy production estimates are estimates only based on:
- UK solar irradiance data (850-950 kWh/kWp/year)
- Current Ofgem price cap rates and SEG export rates
- Industry-standard calculation methodologies
These estimates are not guarantees. Actual performance will vary.
4. Third-Party Installers
All installers are independent third-party businesses. We verify MCS certification, RECC membership, and business registration, but do not guarantee their work quality.

You agree to provide accurate information and not misuse the platform.
